• After spending five years isolated at a research facility in the Savage Land, Bobby Drake returns to a world very different from the one he left behind. For five years, the X-Men ceased operating after everything surrounding the Legacy Virus and Project OZT, but the opposing side never waited for the dust to settle. Anti-mutant groups are more organized than ever, and international politics has been shaken ever since the United Nations officially recognized the state of Genosha. The island had been conquered by Magneto and his Acolytes years earlier, but they gradually built their own society there, turning it into what is now known as the mutant refuge.

• A secret extremist organization, however, is far from pleased with this development. They simply call themselves The Right, and their existence comes to light when Iceman saves the young mutant Julio Richter, who is suffering from severe depression and suicidal thoughts after being manipulated by the organization into sinking refugee ships bound for Genosha. Bobby takes Julio in, and the young mutant now lives with him, potentially holding the key to uncovering the truth behind The Right.

• Quicksilver is recruited by the team after being recommended by the Avengers, more specifically by the Scarlet Witch. She hopes to help her brother leave behind the criminal life tied to Magneto, while Pietro himself is searching for a new path. Although he initially seems uninterested in joining, everything changes once he begins growing closer to the mutant M. The two are assigned to escort a shipment of mutant inhibitor collars being transported to The Raft. Similar shipments across the country had already been intercepted and stolen during the previous week, and this one proves no different. Together, they battle the Friends of Humanity, now equipped with advanced anti-mutant weaponry and led by the new X-Cutioner.

• Strong Guy and Multiple Man are deployed to dismantle an illegal superhuman fighting circuit operating beneath Las Vegas, where the brutal Sunder has been forced into servitude as its enforcer. The underground arena thrives on exploitation, pitting enhanced individuals against one another for profit and influence. As Guido fights his way through waves of combatants, he absorbs the immense kinetic force dealt to him, growing stronger with every hit. When he finally confronts Sunder, the battle becomes a collision of raw power and endurance, shaking the very structure of the arena.

• M tracks a series of high-level manipulations within global financial systems to Sebastian Shaw, who is quietly profiting from escalating mutant-human tensions. Moving through elite gatherings, corporate fronts, and hidden negotiations, Monet uncovers how Shaw is orchestrating crises to control markets and influence political outcomes. To get close to the villain, she gains access to the Hellfire Gala alongside a select group of elite mutants who will act as her spies during the event: Warren Worthington III, the recruit Roberto da Costa, and the refined Lady Elizabeth Braddock. Their confrontation unfolds on multiple levels, verbal, psychological, and physical, as Shaw attempts to recruit her by appealing to her intellect and ambition. Monet refuses, dismantling his operations piece by piece while exposing his schemes, proving that power without principle is simply another form of control.

• Iceman responds to a series of engineered ice storms devastating coastal regions, eventually tracing the phenomenon back to Blizzard. These storms are not natural; they are calculated disasters designed to cripple infrastructure and spread fear of mutant abilities. As entire environments begin to collapse under freezing conditions, Bobby expands his powers on a massive scale, stabilizing climates and protecting civilians. The final confrontation becomes a battle of precision versus chaos, as Iceman proves that mastery over his abilities goes far beyond destruction, countering Blizzard's reckless use of similar powers.

• Meanwhile, Multiple Man has one of his duplicates infiltrated into Genosha, operating alongside the Brotherhood of Mutants, now serving as the nation's armed forces. The plan falls apart when Mystique begins to believe Jamie Madrox is the spy mentioned by Destiny in one of the many pages of her diary. She slowly tortures the young mutant, playing with his secrets and weaknesses. Everything changes when Quicksilver reveals himself to be a spy working against his own father, resulting in his exile from Genosha. Convinced she has found the true traitor, Mystique withdraws her suspicions and accepts Madrox into her army. In reality, the entire operation was an X-Factor plan to deceive Mystique, sacrificing one of their spies to keep the other safe.

• Havok and Polaris investigate the murder of their mentor, Professor Ahmet Abdol, only to discover that the historian was connected to a cult known as The Promise. In his personal journal, Abdol describes a coming interspecies war, a final judgment in which humanity must prove itself worthy of survival when a superior race arrives, led by a tyrant who brings with him the end of mankind: Apocalypse. Cross-referencing the information with the help of Dr. Hank McCoy, they discover similar passages in ancient tomes belonging to a forgotten religion known as the Cult of the Living Pharaoh, founded near the end of the reign of Empress Rama-Tefnut, whom the X-Men already know was En-Sabbah Nur's greatest enemy before he became Apocalypse. What truly terrifies them are the final pages of Abdol's diary, which describe his death as only the beginning of something far greater.

• Polaris tracks a powerful magnetic anomaly into the Savage Land, where Zaladane seeks to harness ancient energies capable of rivaling Magneto's power. Surrounded by unstable terrain and remnants of forgotten forces, Lorna faces an opponent whose abilities mirror her own in dangerous ways. As Zaladane attempts to seize powers beyond her understanding, Polaris is forced to fully embrace her own mastery, stabilizing the environment and defeating her opponent, proving that true strength is defined by control, not domination. Zaladane escapes before being captured, but comes to see Lorna as a path toward the divine, believing the two of them to be manifestations of the same godlike being.

• Finally, X-Factor discovers that the transportation routes for mutant inhibitor technology had been compromised by someone within the government itself, leading them to believe that The Right is merely an umbrella term for an entire network of anti-mutant organizations working together toward the same objective. The identity of the mastermind is obtained through a deal with Sebastian Shaw, who demands that X-Factor stay away from the Hellfire Club. The price is the location of Cameron Hodge, the military officer believed to be leading the operation. When the team finally arrives to arrest him on behalf of the state, they find Hodge dead and the military base in complete chaos after having been invaded. According to the surviving soldiers, there is no doubt who was responsible. The attack was carried out by a mutant terrorist group: X-Force.
