Biography

Early Life

Cletus Kasady was the most notorious serial killer in the United States.

For more than a decade, he terrorized the country from the shadows, becoming one of the most feared criminals in America. Authorities eventually discovered the grotesque place he had called home, further horrifying the public and revealing the extent of the disturbed mind behind his crimes.

Despite his notoriety, Cletus was eventually imprisoned at Seagate Prison.

The document provides no further information about his childhood, family, education, or the circumstances that led him to become a serial killer.

The Seagete Breakout

Cletus Kasady's fate changed when Eddie Brock escaped his prison cell during a massive incident at Seagate Prison.

The chaos began when Eddie expelled the Venom symbiote from his body, only for the black creature to embrace him once again. As Venom tore through correctional officers and triggered a massive prison breakout, numerous high-profile criminals escaped into the country.

Among those released were Aleksei Sytsevich, Dmitri Smerdyakov, Morris Bench, Antón Miguel Rodriguez, Fritz Von Meyer, Norton Fester, Theodore Winchester, Frederick Myers, and several other dangerous criminals.

The prison's new warden, Miles Warren, appeared remarkably unconcerned with the destruction. Since taking control of Seagate, Warren's administration had ceased answering to the government and instead served more powerful interests.

The Experiments

The same people controlling Warren had instructed him to conduct additional experiments on Eddie Brock beyond those authorized by the United States government.

While Venom's riot consumed the prison above, Warren descended into the facility's deepest isolation wing.

There, Cletus Kasady remained restrained to a steel table.

Warren had obtained stronger samples of the Venom symbiote directly from Eddie Brock. He intended to use those samples for further experimentation.

He injected the harvested symbiote into Cletus' neck.

The organism immediately reacted violently.

Rather than simply bonding with Kasady, the symbiote forced its way through his body before crawling across his skin and consuming him until no trace of exposed flesh remained.

The experiment transformed Cletus Kasady into something entirely new.

Carnage was born.

The Carnage Birth

Carnage emerged as a being driven by absolute chaos and destruction.

Unlike the controlled applications of the symbiote being pursued by the United States government, Carnage represented an uncontrollable manifestation of violence, with no distinction between potential targets.

His purpose was simple: spread destruction and claim as many victims as possible.

The chaos surrounding Carnage was not an isolated event.

His emergence was deliberately orchestrated as part of a larger plan designed to keep Spider-Man occupied.

Behind the entire operation was Doctor Octopus, whose meticulously planned timetable had placed Carnage among the pieces of a much larger scheme.

Carnage's rampage therefore served a specific purpose: to consume Spider-Man's attention while Doctor Octopus' greater plan continued to unfold.
