Biography

Early Life

Harry Osborn was born into the wealthy Osborn family as the only son of Norman Osborn, the billionaire CEO of Oscorp. From an early age, Harry was surrounded by privilege and had access to opportunities most people could only dream of. However, his relationship with his father was far from ideal.

Despite Harry's academic success, Norman believed that his son was not capable of becoming his successor at Oscorp. His father's lack of confidence became one of the defining pressures in Harry's life, leaving Harry determined to prove that he was worthy of inheriting the company.

Harry eventually became a student at Midtown High School, where he crossed paths with two of the school's brightest students, Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy.

Peter and Gwen had distinguished themselves academically and, under the guidance of their biology teacher, Dr. Curt Connors, were invited to represent Midtown High at an Oscorp-sponsored science fair. The pair won the competition, earning a tour of Oscorp's research facilities in Manhattan.

Harry attended the tour for a very different reason. His presence was not connected to his grades, but rather to his position as Norman Osborn's son. Because of his family connections, Harry possessed unrestricted access to Oscorp's laboratories and used that privilege to personally show Peter and Gwen around the facility.

During the visit, Peter was unknowingly bitten by a mysterious radioactive spider, an event that would eventually transform his life and lead to the emergence of Spider-Man. Harry, however, had no idea of the significance of what had happened.

As Harry spent more time with Peter and Gwen, the three became increasingly close. Harry's friendship with them developed beyond their initial meeting at Oscorp, and he became part of their shared plans for the future.

At the same time, Harry's personal life remained complicated. His relationship with Norman continued to deteriorate, particularly after Harry revealed his relationship with Ned Leeds, a young intern at Oscorp. Norman's disapproval added another source of tension between father and son.

Determined to demonstrate his capabilities and establish himself independently of his father's judgment, Harry grew even closer to Peter and Gwen. The three began meeting regularly to prepare for college, sharing the same ambition of studying Biophysics.

For a time, the friendship appeared stable. However, Peter gradually began missing their preparation sessions. He claimed that he was occupied with building a photography portfolio, but Harry and Gwen were unaware that Peter had secretly begun operating as Spider-Man.

While Harry continued pursuing his academic future, New York became increasingly fascinated by rumors of a new masked vigilante: a young, awkward hero wearing a homemade costume and calling himself Spider-Man.

Eventually, Harry's connection to Peter and Gwen led to the three of them attending Columbia University, where they studied Biophysics together. Harry's admission was helped by his father's connections among the university faculty, another example of the influence and privilege attached to the Osborn name.

Harry's friendship with Peter and Gwen continued into their university years, even as their lives became increasingly complicated by Spider-Man's growing presence in New York.

As the years passed, Harry's position within Oscorp changed dramatically.

Eventually, Harry Osborn assumed control of Oscorp, taking over the company while his father, Norman, moved toward an entirely different career in American politics. Norman eventually became President of the United States, leaving Harry in charge of the corporation and its future.

Under Harry's leadership, Oscorp began moving in a very different direction from the company that had existed under Norman. One of the people working within the new Oscorp was Ned Leeds, who became part of the company's scientific team.

Harry's assumption of control over Oscorp therefore represented a major turning point in his life. The son whom Norman had once considered incapable of inheriting the company had ultimately become its leader.

Meanwhile, Peter Parker returned to scientific work at Oscorp, joining Ned Leeds' scientific team while balancing his responsibilities as Spider-Man and his work as a substitute teacher. This brought Peter back into the orbit of the company where his transformation had originally begun.

Harry's current position therefore places him at the center of Oscorp's new era: the former student who once struggled to prove himself to Norman is now the person responsible for directing the corporation himself, while his father operates on an entirely different stage as President of the United States.
