Groot is a member of the Flora Colossi, a rare and powerful species native to Planet X. According to intergalactic records and accounts consistent with Marvel’s official archives, his kind once thrived as a highly evolved race connected to nature and governed by a collective intelligence.
However, their existence came to a tragic end when the Leviathan known as Furnax invaded Planet X, devastating its ecosystem and annihilating its inhabitants. This catastrophic event left Groot as the last of his kind. The news of his planet’s destruction reached him while he was imprisoned, marking a turning point in his life transforming him from a quiet, isolated being into the final bearer of an entire civilization’s legacy.
